In the heart of a craftswoman, the most fashionable Hanfu style is Song pants, which elongate the body lines. Besides making one appear taller and slimmer, they also have a natural and graceful effect.
They can fully meet the modern lifestyle, and I often wear Song pants with a shirt to work. Although it's a mix-and-match outfit, it doesn't feel like one because it's really fashionable~
The wide-legged pants that have been popular in recent years are probably already owned by many girls. In fact, thousands of years ago, our ancestors had already started this trend. As we all know, traditional Song pants have an open crotch. For convenience, modern Hanfu makers have mostly recreated them. Whether with elastic bands or ties, we can call them Chinese elements Song pants.
Today, Fairy Erwu brings you a tutorial: super slimming and fashionable Chinese elements pants. After personal testing by the craftswoman, whether paired with Hanfu or modern clothing, they are both classical and fashionable, versatile and practical~
Trendy Elements
△The pants that have been popular in recent years, I bet you have a few pairs in your wardrobe! The flat-folded style looks simple and casual, and the folded part can hide the belly and thighs, suitable for most women's figures.
△Skirts and pants with many pleats at the waist, claiming to use 3.5 meters of fabric, flowing when walking, and exuding a fairy-like aura… In reality, they make you look fat! Especially the pleats gathered at the waist, which can instantly increase your waist size by one size, making your lower body from the waist to the ankles look bloated! Most importantly, they don't look neat or elegant at all.
Classical Style
A fight scene among Song people; in that era, pants were considered undergarments.
△Zooming in, the waist is very loose, and there are many wrinkles in the crotch area, indicating that the slack in the waistband is concentrated in the crotch when worn.
△Thanks to Shengge Luojin for providing the image. This is a Hanfu pant, with a widened strip added to the inner side of the pant leg. At the time, I didn't know what it was for, but it turned out to be useful when making the pants.
△I accidentally discovered the method of making Korean pants, which differs from Hanfu pants as it adds a widened strip in the crotch area.
Pattern Making
△At first, I was skeptical and insisted on making a modern version of the pants without adding the widened strips. During the process, I found that the white fabric was not enough, and the cut-out pant legs were too narrow. Out of necessity, I added widened strips to both the inner side of the pant legs and the crotch area.
Production
Two small pieces of fabric.
First, draw the pattern on the blue fabric.
Cut along the lines.
The two pant legs look like this, with the crotch points staggered to save fabric. Due to the lack of fabric, even with this arrangement, the design width could not be achieved, so I added a widened strip to the crotch area.
The white inner pants used narrower fabric, so instead of cutting the front and back pieces separately, I made them with uncut side seams, saving 1 cm on each side.
Cut out.
Sew together.
The white inner pants have widened strips on the inner side of the pant legs and in the crotch area.
The blue outer pants have wider pant legs, so only the crotch area has a widened strip.
Merge the two layers. At this point, I realized that the white pants could be worn alone, but once the blue and white layers were sewn together, they couldn't be worn separately, so I decided to make two pairs.
Cut the waistband.
Fold and press flat.
Front waist: 60cm, Back waist: 40cm, excess fabric at the waist is pleated.
Sew the waistband.
I added two hidden buttons to the white inner pants, and the blue outer pants have two hidden buttons and a pair of ties.
Go Out and Have Fun!
