Most of the embroidered Hanfu we usually buy are machine-embroidered, completed by industrial embroidery machines. In addition, you may have also heard of hand-guided embroidery. Hand-guided embroidery, in simple terms, involves using a machine to manually move the embroidery hoop along the pattern to create the design, achieving an effect similar to hand embroidery.
The best machine for hand-guided embroidery, it is said, is the old-style sewing machine, yes, your grandma's sewing machine, because the needle speed is controlled by a foot pedal, making it easier to manage. Next, the multi-functional home sewing machines that we commonly use can also achieve hand-guided embroidery. 1. Stretch the fabric with the line drawing on the embroidery hoop. The bobbin thread should be tighter than usual, and the tension of the top thread should be adjusted according to the thickness of the thread and the embroidery material.
2. Place the embroidery hoop on the embroidery plate, lower the presser foot lever, and hold the hoop while moving it according to the pattern on the embroidery. The speed of movement should match the needle movement to avoid breaking the thread or needle.
3. Choose a zigzag stitch and start with a darker thread color.
