In modern society, the collision between ancient and contemporary culture has sparked new interest in Hanfu, a traditional Chinese attire. As a passionate Hanfu enthusiast, I am deeply captivated by the elegance and splendor of Ming Dynasty-style Hanfu. To find a better location for photography, I decided to personally visit Qinhuangdao, a coastal city in China, where I would wear Ming Dynasty-style Hanfu and capture this beautiful memory with my camera to share with you.
I. Qinhuangdao: A Beautiful City on the Coast
Located in Hebei Province, facing the Bohai Sea, Qinhuangdao is a picturesque coastal city. It boasts stunning scenery and numerous famous tourist attractions, such as the Changli Majiahe Ancient Stone Figure Cultural Site, Beidaihe Scenic Area, Laolongtou (Old Dragon's Head), and Shanhaiguan Great Wall.
II. Ming Dynasty Hanfu: Reliving the Grandeur of Ancient Emperors
Ming Dynasty Hanfu is a traditional garment of the Han people that was favored and promoted by the emperors of the Ming Dynasty. It is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, exquisite embroidery, and delicate paper-cutting techniques. Ming Dynasty Hanfu includes various styles, such as the imperial concubine's dress, the official's ceremonial robe, and the military uniform of the military officers.
III. Finding Shooting Locations: A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Modernity
In the city of Qinhuangdao, I consulted locals and toured some scenic spots to find suitable places for shooting Ming Dynasty Hanfu. First, I chose Shanhaiguan Great Wall as one of the shooting locations. As a well-known pass during the Ming Dynasty, it complements Hanfu perfectly, showcasing both the solemnity and majesty of ancient emperors and the perfect combination of the Great Wall and Hanfu. Second, I chose the Beidaihe Scenic Area. With its vast beaches and azure waters, it harmonizes beautifully with the colors of Ming Dynasty Hanfu, blending the grandeur of ancient times with the beauty of modern landscapes.
IV. Inviting Partners: Experiencing the Splendor of the Past Together
Before the Ming Dynasty Hanfu shoot in Qinhuangdao, I invited several friends who are also passionate about Hanfu to join me, adding more interaction and fun to the shoot. We are all Hanfu enthusiasts, and through mutual exchanges and collaborative efforts, we can better understand the cultural significance and craftsmanship of ancient Hanfu. Before the shoot, we also learned some ancient etiquette to better recreate the atmosphere of the Ming Dynasty.
V. The Shooting Process and Results: Beautiful Moments Across Time
During the shoot, we carefully prepared various sets of Ming Dynasty Hanfu, including the costume of Chang'e, the attire of Huaxi from “Dream of the Red Chamber,” and the ceremonial robe of officials. Each outfit was meticulously selected and crafted to ensure that every participant could showcase their best appearance.
At Shanhaiguan Great Wall, we chose to shoot during dusk to capture the magnificent sunset and the grandeur of the Great Wall. At the Beidaihe Scenic Area, we chose to shoot in the morning to highlight the beautiful scenes of Hanfu against the backdrop of the beach.
Through this shoot, we not only captured beautiful photos but also experienced a journey through time. Wearing Ming Dynasty Hanfu, we felt as if we had traveled back to ancient times, experiencing the splendor and dignity of ancient emperors.
Conclusion:
Ming Dynasty Hanfu offers a beautiful sense of time travel, allowing us to rediscover the splendor and dignity of ancient times. Through our shoot in Qinhuangdao, we not only enjoyed the fun of photography but also conveyed the charm of ancient traditional culture. We hope that through our efforts, more people will learn about and fall in love with Ming Dynasty Hanfu, preserving and promoting the beauty and charm of ancient culture.
