Why is Li Ziqi So Popular?
I have received a lot of PMs recently, all of them asking me the same question. Do you know or like Li Ziqi or not? Do you think that she can be counted as a sort of Chinese culture export? Of course, before that, I have thought about this for a long time. I started to perceive Li Ziqi from 2017. So I think I have my own perspective of what she's doing, and it's worth sharing. On-screen, Li Ziqi’s life seems to defy the rules of reality. With more than 60 million fans worldwide, the Chinese internet celebrity is famous for her videos, where she performs the work of a farmer with the grace of a fairy. In one video, she picks flowers on horseback in a red cape, invoking the image of Red Riding Hood. In another, she builds an item of bamboo furniture set using traditional Chinese techniques. Li Ziqi rode on a horse Actually, I remember that back in the summer of 2017, she had a lot of haters who were doubting the real intention behind her videos. And then she put out an article that explains how many of the materials she does herself and how much hard work she puts in it…- 0

[Interview] What Is It Like to Become a Hanfu Photographer?
Like hanfu models, hanfu photographers are the ones who have the easiest access to the latest hanfu styles. Compared to the early days of the Hanfu revival, the reason why we, nowadays, can see photos of varied styles and beautiful hanfu is very closely related to the hanfu photographers. Modern Hanfu found four hanfu photographers and let’s hear their stories. Mr. Qian Xi (浅溪先生) Hello everyone, I'm Qian Xi, a Chengdu-based office worker with a sideline in photography, and I define myself as a dream maker. From the beginning of college in 2017, I was influenced by ancient songs and took the road of shooting hanfu. Although my job is relatively stable, I also lost a lot of opportunities to go out and shoot, basically only shooting in Chengdu and participating in online training. Even so, it didn't affect my love for hanfu and photography, and I would go planning to do hanfu photography whenever I had time. I have been trying to find my own "tag" because I am working and have few opportunities to shoot and create. Since the end of 2018, I've been trying to use Photoshop to create scenes that don't exist in reality…- 0

The Art of Filigree Inlay: A Revival Among Young People
In recent years, there has been a growing trend among young people to learn and master the art of filigree inlay. This ancient decorative technique involves the delicate placement of intricate metal threads or wires onto a metal base to create a stunningly intricate design. Once a highly valued skill among artisans, filigree inlay fell out of fashion as modern manufacturing techniques took over. However, in the age of DIY and the resurgence of interest in traditional crafts, filigree inlay is experiencing a revival. Let's take a closer look at this beautiful art form and why it's attracting a new generation of makers. The production of filigree inlay can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, with its fine and exquisite craftsmanship, can be regarded as a high class custom-made piece of classical jewelry. It was the exclusive preserve of the court nobility in ancient China. This traditional craft, however, is beginning to be loved and passed on by a younger generation of craftsmen. Gu Guoqiang, a young man from Chongqing, loves classical brush painting and everything about traditional culture. In college, he studied ceramics, and he was involved in the restoration of…- 0

[Interview] What Is It Like to Become a Hanfu Designer
What is it like to be a hanfu designer? Let's take a look at Hanfu Shi Dai (汉服世代) interviews with four hanfu designers. Kong Xin Yan (空心砚) Hello, I'm Kong Xin Yan and I've been in touch with hanfu for more than 10 years! Over the years I have been concerned about the demand for modern hanfu and saw the potential market demand for non-antique hanfu, but there are many inconveniences in wearing traditional hanfu directly, which triggered my design inspiration and also formed my own design feature - "Shi Zhuang Han Cai (时装汉裁, tailoring fashion in Han style)". Traditional hanfu leaps directly from ancient times into modern times, missing the process of cultural renewal, and many styles are based on the ancient social background. If we want to further develop hanfu, we have to think about these questions: How should traditional hanfu serve the current fast-paced society and what functions should it achieve in an era when there are noblemen like emperors, generals and princesses? "Shi Zhuang Han Cai" is my answer to these questions after thinking and practicing. In fact, my family has been reluctant to wear hanfu for more than ten years, but they are happy…- 0

More People Like to Join Hanfu Fashion
The aesthetics of mankind has always undergone earth-shaking changes with the changes of the times. At different times, beauty has different performances. An inclusive country is often reflected in their clothing. Walking down the street, we often see people dressed in Chinese Hanfu. Like everyone else on the street, they wear Chinese Hanfu to go shopping, eat, wait for traffic lights. Their straightforward attitude reveals their confidence in history and their passion for traditional culture. In Ancient China, especially nobles or large families, the requirements for dressing are almost strict, for example, a hat has countless complicated kinds because the "crown" represents the social status of this person. From the time of the Yellow Emperor, people began to use cloth to make clothes. However, due to the backwardness of science and technology and the lack of material, the cloth is very scarce, so the cloth is also an ornament of aristocratic symbolic rights. The Yellow Emperor is also the earliest designer in China. He proposed that "the sleeves are wide and drooping".this should also be the prototype of China's most famous clothing "robes". In the Han Dynasty, the fabric was fully developed and the Hanfu became diverse. Of course, due…- 0
