Lu Ming Shan has been drawing illustrations for many years. Because of her love for traditional Chinese culture, her romantic imagination and her roaming in the world of Chinese mythology. She has created cartoons on the theme of Shanhaijing, “Zhong Nan Shan (终南山)”, and various Chinese mythological beasts, and is therefore known as the “The most beautiful demon painter” and has become famous in the Chinese style illustration circle.
Looking at such rich and exquisite paintings, you may not expect that Lu Ming Shan's painting skills are not professional, but only self-taught because of the obsession from childhood. What is even more unexpected is that her major is orthopedics, and she has also studied for a master's degree in sports medicine.
During her college years, she never gave up drawing. While studying her major, she read a lot of publications, practiced drawing, and started contributing.
Because she did not come from a professional background, Lu Ming Shan needed to spend more effort than others. She search a lots of online classes to learn, would spend more time to conceptualize and practicing her brushwork, and when she had an income, she also sought out teachers to improve her professionalism.
And her former medical profession has also helped her. Her knowledge of human body structure and muscle anatomy has given Lu Ming Shan a greater sense of proportion and strength when drawing characters.
