The earliest appearance of Chinese dress would have been during the Yin Shang period before there was any archaeological physical support for the age. About 5,000 years ago, during the Neolithic period of the Yangshao culture in China, primitive agriculture and weaving arose, and began to use the woven Hemp cloth was used to make clothes, silkworms and silk spinning were invented by Leizu, the wife of the Yellow Emperor, and people's clothing was perfected.
Hanfu is cut from two feet two inches (50cm) wide cloth and is divided into ten parts, such as the collar, the cuff of sleeves, sleeve, belt, etc. Take two pieces of cloth of equal length, fold them in half respectively as front lapel and back train, and sew them together in the middle of the back. If there is no overlapping part in the front lapel, it is a straight collar coat. If you take another piece of cloth, cut it into two overlaps and sew it to the left and right lapels, then you have a slanted collar and right overlap. The middle seam of the front placket and back train is called Du, Du Meridian, or Ren Meridian. The overlapping part is on the right side of Ren Meridian, so it is called right overlapping (the collar is in Y shape).
The length of Ju is divided into the middle of the waist, the top of the knee and the top of the foot. Depending on the length of the Ju, the Hanfu comes in three lengths: Ru, Shu, and Shenyi, the seam between the sleeve and the train is called Ge, and the cuffs of the sleeves are called Qu. A complete set of Hanfu usually has three layers: small clothing ( underwear), middle clothing, and large clothing.
Hanfu Supermodel Talent Show
Hanfu was so influential due to the spread of the Chinese Confucian royal culture that neighboring peoples, including many other Confucian cultural groups (Sinosphere) countries, borrowed certain features of the Hanfu by emulating the Chinese ceremonial system for the five ancient rituals.
Whether it was a foreign monarch, his emissaries, or his vassals paying homage to the Chinese emperor, accepting official duties and making contributions, or the Chinese emperor hosting a banquet for a foreign monarch, the foreign monarch had to wear the national costume to serve the rituals. The system of national costumes prompted neighboring peoples to develop their own national costumes.
